Updated through online information from George Nelson. -- "**the organ was set up, the pulpit and pews were in their places, as you see them here today (1858)** I have nothing to show what was the cost of the church, or the organ, but in May 1860 the building committee reported an indebtedness of $1479.29" - 150th Anniversary History -p.29. Listed in 1877-78 Worcester County Church & Choir directory. Parish founded in Sept 28, 1738, originally First Baptist of Leicester (the 8th Baptist parish in state) and first building dated from before 1747. Village of Greenville named for first pastor of church, Thomas Green (1699-1773) -- As installed, this was most likely a G-Compass organ, revised 1947 by JJ Smith, if not sooner.
