Andrew Henderson on December 6th, 2025:
Updated through online information from Andrew Henderson [December 5, 2025]: From the *Oakland Tribune* (September 11, 1910): "The big organ from the First Congregational Church of San Francisco is now in place at Plymouth Avenue Church of this city, the acquisition being made through the efforts of Mrs. W. C. Little. The instrument has been entirely remodeled by John Bergstrom, the organ builder, the action being changed from reverse to direct and all modern improvements made, such as the installing of pneumatic tubes. The organ has an interesting history, being the first large organ brought to this coast. It was obtained by Edward T. Flint of San Francisco for the edifice at the corner of Dupont and California Streets by personal subscription and shipped around the horn in 1852. It cost in the neighborhood of $2500, and the freight, amounting to $500, was contributed by the captain of the ship."
