The completed organ was dedicated in worship on Sunday, October 7, 1973, at an approximate cost of $60,000. The 1961 Reuter console was retained for the new organ. Some pipes in the Clarke fafade, retained for the Skinner organ, were replaced with new speaking pipes. The organ was named the Sesquicentennial Organ (in honor of the sesquicentennial of Methodism in Indianapolis); the Chimes were a memorial to Iris E . Nelson, and the Zimbelstern was a memorial to Charles E. Stubbs. Consultant Dr. Oswald G. Ragatz of Indiana University, Bloomington, presented a dedicatory recital the afternoon of the dedicatory service. -- *2007 OHS Atlas*
